BETRAYED – Parasite

Modern metal act Betrayed have unleashed a new video taken from the single “Parasite”, available now in all digital platform in partnership with Warmusic Management.

A track that highlights the artistic growth of the project and is described here by the band itself: “’Parasite’ is a dizzying descent into the depths of the psyche, a primal scream that embodies the raw chaos of schizophrenia in its purest form. It doesn’t merely recount the torment of a fragmented mind – it breathes life into it through an unrelenting sonic narrative, where distorted realities overlap, inner voices merge, and the boundary between truth and delirium dissolves. The soul of the track lies in its brutal death metal core: every razor-sharp riff, every fractured drum fill, and every searing scream gives shape to the psychological conflict raging within. The relentless rhythmic assault and dissonant passages translate anxiety and the struggle for control into sound, while the song’s structure unfolds like a spiraling delusion – oscillating between moments of apparent lucidity and eruptions of unbridled fury. In the chorus, harmonized melodies intertwine with the brutality of screams and growls, forging a powerful emotional contrast: the deceptive sweetness of the melodic vocal lines seems to offer a fleeting respite, only to be obliterated by the sonic onslaught – like a mind desperately seeking balance, only to be consumed by its own abyss. More than just a song, Parasite is a sensory experience – a brutal immersion into a mental state as fascinating as it is devastating. It’s a work that unsettles, forces confrontation with an often-ignored reality, and provokes deep reflection on the nature of mental illness”.

The choice of self-production is no coincidence: “It stems from the desire to preserve every nuance of the artistic vision, meticulously crafting every detail with obsessive precision. Every sound is calibrated to become an integral part of the narrative, contributing to an atmosphere that is as evocative as it is merciless. ‘Parasite’ is not just a track – it’s an experience, a maelstrom of emotion that engulfs and leaves its mark”.
